Rose Ellen Mocombe is the Principal Consultant at Beyond Ivy.  Her educational background includes a Bachelors degree in Education from Colgate University and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and a certificate of completion from the Independent Educational Consultants Association 2022 Summer Institute.  Professionally, her engagement and passion with education has included administrative activities while homeschooling her children with Classical Conversations, and standardized test prep experience College Prep Genius.  Her consulting knowledge has been enhanced with with her professional affiliation as an IECA Associate Member, and coursework at the University of California at Irvine's continuing education program for Independent Educational Consultants.  As the Principal Consultant at Beyond Ivy, she seeks to empower her clients with intangible knowledge that will enable them to maximize the benefits and opportunities afforded with attending the best-fit college.

Sara Buffington is a teacher, tutor, and professional writer. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a degree in English. She has published several books and written hundreds of articles for educational websites. Although she loves to write, her passion is working with people. She has been an English and writing teacher for middle through high school. She has tutored numerous high schoolers (including her own children) in all types of essay writing including those required for college admission. Although she personally home educates her children, she also has experience working with students in public and private schools. Sara is dedicated to cultivating the student’s personal voice, so they can present their best and authentic self in their writing.
